Taking care of the environment is particularly important to us. Therefore, starting from October some variants of Velvet toilet paper will have new, environmentally friendly packaging manufactured in 30% from recyclate, i.e. secondary raw material.

The SAVE NATURE label – caring for everyday life with tomorrow in mind

At Velvet CARE we are aware that our business has an impact on the environment, that’s why we work continuously to reduce this impact and improve our products, manufacturing methods, and sustainably use raw materials in production.

All Velvet products carry the ‘Save Nature’ label to symbolise our concern for the environment in five areas:

• protection of forest resources,
• recycling of packaging and raw materials,
• economical use of water in the production process
• reducing greenhouse gas emissions,
• reducing the amount of plastic used.

Initiatives taken in these areas are examples of what a company can realistically do to protect the environment.

Reducing the use of plastic in packaging production

Plastic is one of the biggest environmental challenges that our planet has to face nowadays. It is therefore important to take action to reduce its use. As part of our activities, in an effort to protect the environment, we have already implemented a number of changes that have enabled us to minimise the amount of plastic we use. These initiatives include removing the plastic liner in the tissue box window and reducing the weight of the film used in our product packaging.

Furthermore, recycling is a particularly important step towards reducing plastic consumption and thus protecting our environment. During the recycling process, used plastic is reprocessed and then new products are made from the resulting secondary raw material. The purpose of recycling is to reduce waste, reduce energy consumption and protect natural resources.

Packaging made of 30% recycled plastic (recyclate)

Since October some Velvet toilet paper products will have packaging that contains 30% of recycled plastic (recyclate). Thanks to recycling we reduce the consumption of raw materials which resources are limited and we reduce the emission of harmful gases into the environment. Once recycled, used plastic is reused to make new packaging. With environmental awareness in mind, all packaging in this product range will soon be manufactured using recycled materials.
